1972 Century Mark 17 17' V- hull.  Engine started out as 1969 375hp. Camero 396 BBC now bored to 402, Edelbrock Torker II, 750 Holley, comp cams extreme marine (xm 278H), Berkeley 12JC-A

I got the boat with a bad engine - the previous owner had killed the original 455 Olds and had the 396 installed. They used the automotive pan and had the oil pickup quite a ways off the pan. On top of that the owner had little concept of how a carb works and assumed his low oil pressure electric pump cutoff would shut the thing down the instant he lost oil pressure. Needless to say the 396 did not last long before losing a couple of bearings! When I rebuilt it I went ahead an upgraded the oil system to eliminate the possibility of starvation. At any rate, there has been some wrenching on the boat over it's 30 year life.
